Guided action format

Flashmob Generator

A format for spontaneous group choreography: soundscapes, live prompts and voice messages can direct a whole crowd or selected subgroups into instant action.

What it is

Flashmob Generator uses prepared soundscapes as a shared atmosphere and then adds live voice messages to steer the group on the fly. Instructions can be sent to everyone at once, but also to smaller subgroups or even individual players, making it possible to create layered social choreography in real time.

The result can be playful, poetic, urban, absurd or politically charged — from soft interventions in public space to tightly directed live action.

How it works

Because prompts can be delivered live, the format stays open and responsive. It can evolve into a spontaneous hearing play, a choreographic score or a full-blown flashmob.

  • Multiple soundscapes
  • Live group prompts
  • Subgroup or player-specific instructions
  • Great for cities, festivals and public experiments
